Congratulations to the entire team for a tremendous track season. Many PR’s were set at all levels of competition. The future looks good for the girls track and field program.
Thank you to Tamia Burns, Alexis Casillas, Aysha Gawrych, Haley Grobe, Katie Johnsen, Ceila McCoy, Jasmine Mendez, Tegan Plautz, Laila Romero, Lizzie Stoppkotte, and Cambrey Vance on their commitment to the Islander Girls Track and Field Team as well as their Graduation from Grand Island Senior High on Saturday, May 9th. We will miss you.
Congratulations to Katie Johnsen and Jenica Silva for receiving the NCPA Academic All-State Award for Track and Field.
Congratulations to Celia McCoy for setting the School Record in the 100H.
Congratulations to Bella Bernal, Aysha Gawrych, Katie Johnsen, Reese Jones, Jennifer Lindo, Celia McCoy, Irelynn Sughroue, Liliana Telfon, and Cambrey Vance who qualified for the Nebraska State Track and Field meet on Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st. Good Luck at Omaha Burke.
Varsity Letter Awards will be available to pick up in the ADs Office on Tuesday, May 26th.
Islander Power begins on Monday, June 1st at 10:00am. If you can not make the morning session, the afternoon session will begin at 3:00 in the weight room.
Make sure you are in an Advanced Weight Training class for the 2026-27 school year.
